This project draws inspiration from warming neutral colours and high contrasts in light and shadow observed on those hot sunny days during the covid-19 lockdown. To reflect the organic qualities in the imagery and consider sustainability issues, only natural fibres were experimented with, including organic cottons, linens, merino and high twist wools and some upcycled mohair. Stripes, gradients and the use of pleating and weaving with wire to elevate the surfaces from 2D to 3D became key visual explorations in the project.
